A Way Through
A rendering of the soundtrack for What She Knows. This original score and two songs were written specifically for this performance piece by John Sheldon. Opening with “A Way Through” prepares the audience for the story they are about to enter. With each scene and challenge the main character, Francie, goes through, Sheldon’s accompaniment is there with her – feeding, supporting, underscoring. Sheldon’s music becomes the boat the audience rides through the piece. The powerful closing song “It Wasn’t Your Fault” brings home a core theme of the piece, says Donna, “a conviction I so wish every survivor would embrace about their experience of being abused.”
